We always get fresh fish from Ranch 99. There are only couple of Indian fish out there and we always buy white pomfret. This time my friend suggested tilapia and also mentioned the recipe for tava fry. Indeed a very tasty recipe and I just fell in love with this fish.
5-6 fish pieces
1 tablespoon cumin powder
1 tablespoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon chilly powder
1/4 teaspoon tamarind extract
1/4 cup fine sooji
4-5 tablespoon water
3 teaspoon oil
Make a thick paste of all the above powder, salt, tamarind extract and water.
Marinade fish pieces in the paste for 1-2 hours.
Dust fine sooji on fish pieces and fry it on a hot tava. Put oil and cover a lid.
Serve hot with rice and dal.
