Ridge Gourd Gravy/ Ghosale Shira Tambli

Yesterday I posted a recipe for ghosale shira chutney. I took some portion of it and prepared this tambli. I like tambli more than chutney. I used chilled buttermilk which made this taste heavenly. You can serve this with rice or even just drink it like "masala buttermilk". Make it slightly spicy if you are serving this as beverage.




Ingredients:
Handful of ridge gourd skin
1 cup coconut
3-4 green chillies
1/4 tea spoon tamarind extract
1 tablespoon oil
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
4-5 curry leaves
5 tablespoon water
2 cups butter milk
Salt

Method:

Fry ridge gourd skin, coconut, green chillies and tamarind extract for couple of minutes. Fry these items dry without oil.
Grind into a smooth paste. Add butter milk.
In a skillet heat oil. Add mustard seeds and when mustard seeds starts spluttering add curry leaves.
Pour the seasoning on tambli.
Serve with rice or as beverage.
