Mushroom Curry/ Alambe Ambat

We get fresh little mushrooms at 99 Ranch. Though these are not typical "gudu gudu alambe" these are button mushrooms and tastes good. Last time when we bought this I had some cucumber also and I decided to prepare ambat and it really came out well.

1 cup mushroom
1 small cucumber
1/2 cup grated coconut
6-7 red chillies
1/4 teaspoon tamarind extract
2 cups water

2 tablespoons oil
1/2 chopped onion

Cut mushrooms and cucumber into pieces.
In a pot cook these with 2 cups of water.
Make a fine paste of grated coconut, tamarind extract and red chillies.
Mix this paste to cooked vegetables and bring it to boil.
Add salt.
Prepare a seasoning with chopped onion. Heat oil in a pan and fry chopped onion until brown color. Pour it on the gravy.
Serve hot with rice.

Serves: 3
Preparation Time: 25 minutes
